We are seeking a Branch Operations Trainer facilitates training programs for employees, with the assistance of the Branch Operations Training Manager. Partners with employees, supervisors and leaders to understand training initiatives, develop training materials, and measure effectiveness of training programs. Ensures quality and regulatory compliance requirements are supported through training programs.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Location: 1509 Baltimore Drive, Ames, IA 50010

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in conducting training sessions for varying levels experience within the Credit Union covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, group instruction, refreshers and demonstrations. Incorporates blended learning experiences in training programs, including group activities, presentations, and discussions.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as course materials, visual aids and job aids. Maintains educational materials to be used for reference once the training has been completed.
  • Measures the progress of trainees through routine assessments, observation, and feedback from supervisors; adjusts techniques and recommends changes when appropriate.
  • Able to perform all duties of our branch operations staff including teller transactions and MSR/FSR duties.
  • Assist Branch Operations Training Manager on coordinating and/or conducting periodic ancillary and lending product training for branch operations lending staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

Other Skills:
1. To maintain a basic understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures, as well an understanding of the Credit Union's mission.
2. Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including telephone, computer, projector, and other related training aids.
3. Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
4. To relate any problems in training effectiveness to the supervisor, making recommendations to resolve them.
5. To meet all training objectives and established goals for the year.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk a majority of the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to operate office equipment, including telephone, copier and calculator. Must be able to routinely work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.

Work Environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
